Although born in Pennsylvania, I lived the first 18 years of my life in Calgary, Canada.  Most of my days were spent building forts in the ravine behind my house, picking saskatoons in the summer heat and waging snowball fights with my brother after snowstorms.  Through high school I continued with other interests like music, basketball and stargazing, and developed a passion for photography.  At the same time, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel across the country for science and engineering related programs (see Projects) and discovered that the intersection between engineering and medicine was the frontier I wanted to be a part of.  I joined Rice University, where I obtained my degree in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering.

Now a General Surgery resident after completing medical school, I still love to look up at the stars (and the ISS, when visible!), and am always up for a good hike.  In my downtime, I like to compose music on my piano or bang out some rhythms on the drums.

This website is mostly dedicated to my observations on life through the camera lens, although you will find a few other tidbits here and there.  I invite you to look around and explore!
